Innocent Guilt
1 April, 2000
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)

vinebar

Falsely Accused, they stand
So called, guilty as charged
Not for the crime
But who they appeared to be

The needle comes closer
Day by day
A mother's believing tear falls
As truth is lost to err

Lies, manipulations, and untruths
Facts lost to the facade of religion
Salem revisited
The trials continue

Three more childhoods lost
While true criminals go free
Crime solved, yet still the truth remains undiscovered
Mistakes of a system, now covered in innocent blood

------- Author's Notes -------

Does the truth remain untold in order to save the face of the system gone bad? And just how often is it truely happening?
