A Rock And A Hard Place
22 April, 2000
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
You find yourself between a rock and a hard place
Going through the motions each day
Now love is lost ...with no love saved
You both watch love slipping away
Conflicts too deep to overcome
Words said in anger still bite
Can't take back the past
With no foreseeable future in sight
Together you travel separately
Him his way ..you yours
Sleeping together yet alone
Arguments heighten behind closed doors
Yet trapped in your world you remain
Neither is able to walk away
Stuck in a paradise, that no longer is
Held back with realities, you stay
You face each day with pain in your heart
As you both know what once was, is lost
Facades of happy faces for family and friends
The no turning back line, now crossed
Too much has happened for love to go on
You go through motions, suffer the lie
Sitting in sad remembrance of a love that's no more
At night, backs turned together, you cry

Thank you for writing this, it is easier somehow to see it written so clearly. I think you are brilliant. |
