A Night At The Lake
1 July, 2000
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Two in a lake swim in friendship
Sharing a story and a dream
Hoping the fish are not too aggressive
Chilling in the milky moon air
Two in a lake swim in love
Sharing a moment of their time
She's in his arms light as a feather
Washing away workday woes
One in a lake swims in thought
Absorbing the coolness of solitude
Pondering the 'has beens' and 'what ifs'
Surrendering to the liquid comfort
The lake sits alone in the darkness
Still from the days swimming events
Occasional fish jumps and a frog croaks
Nature at peace from the play
