author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
As I look to you, great mountain of ice
I wonder where you have been
How long have you stood there watching
Maybe from our earth's beginning... maybe till its end
The majesty of what stands before me
Sparkling view never to be seen again
You absorb the warmth of sunlight
Radiating the surface, thus aiding men
So much is taken for granted
In the fact that you will always be there
Yet as you melt, you change our world
Leaving traces of past on ground and in air
And as I look at you, beautiful transient mountain of ice
I am awed by your power and gifts
Yet so fragile in the world that is now
I pray that you will always exist
