Crystalline Mountains
30 July, 2000
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Crystalline skyscrapers paint the horizon
Time capsules of yesterday and today
Wizards of the changing winds
Brutal destroyers.. still paving the day
Winding endlessly through an unknown journey
Scarring the land as they go
Leaving a trail of the past behind
With the melting of the ice and snow
Were they there at the time of the dinosaurs
Did they watch as the mighty fell
Have they entombed the secrets of life gone by
And are they collecting them still
Frozen live mountains that move
Along some long ago destined path
Providing so much..and taking it back
Silent sentinels guarding it's truths
We watch, as they slowly are dying
While collecting behind them, our past
Disavowed we sit and do nothing
Just expecting their life giving splendor to last
