The Heart Cries
8 August, 2000
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
The heart so easily bruised
It sits awaiting a voice
But the voice will never come
So now it's feeling sad and used
It didn't know any better
It believed in love
Ah! the silly heart, such pain
Why did it ever surrender
Alone in a place it should have never been
Now crying for what is lost
Or was it ever really there at all
mistake in love, now dark alone-ness descends
The heart it cries one last tear
Before it turns the page
Just another hard lesson learned
Another old lonely bridge is burned
The heart plasters on it's happy face
And goes about it's everyday life
Only it will know of the sadness within
And the feeling ne'er to be replaced
