The Darkness
8 September, 2000
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Darkness seeks to engorge the once beautiful place
The cloud of blackness overwhelms the love that was
For what once was, is now a memory of spirit
And a gaping hole leaves the heart no longer filled
It was so much better when love touched the heart
When the darkness had not yet so overwhelmed
Now it sits alone, and when alone it weeps
The loss of such beauty brings on the tears
I Sit in the wretched darkness seeking strength
Yet the empty feeling of the dark persists
But even the darkness there is giving
For in its black solitude of time there is peace
