Life's Path
7 December, 2000
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Hauntingly the visions of the past float behind my eyes
Reminding me of what has been, and will never be again
I shake off the darkening of the path behind me
As I let a single tear fall in memory
I think of the lives that have brushed against my heart
Dreams happy and sad that touched, never seem far away
Forever gone are the multitudes of those that were
To a place far beyond my reach as I strive for life
Yet as I look back I pause but a moment to smile
Admiring the passing views from the distance
For in the past began the future anew
And in tomorrow a memory will be born
