Shadows Of Our Imperfection
29 January, 2001
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)

vinebar

The shadows of our imperfection
Look endlessly back from the distant past
Reminders of who we were, to who we are
Reflections of a lessor time

The calloused memories of hurt
Extinguish the joys of yesterday
We survived the moral issues of the time
And the past is now a long put behind

Who we were then, matters not now
Those that taunted us are long gone or changed
Little memories of happiness that escaped
Returned in the memories of another

The shadows of our imperfection
Still haunt in the dark caverns of the mind
But only if we let them
Only if we allow them the time

------- Author's Notes -------

Thanks for the memory of good times
