Where Fear Resides
7 April, 2001
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
The fear cries out through the darkness
Splitting the peacefulness of my dreams
I thought I would find peace in sleep
But I was wrong
The nightmares that touch my day life
Survive fullest in the quiet of night
I lay weeping silently into my pillow
The fear remains
Once again I close my eyes to sleep
And try to think pleasant thoughts
Yet as the dream invades once more
I run in fear
I awake suddenly with a voiceless scream
Knives of shadow's slice at my flesh
Tired from the constant running all night
I face the light
