To Me You Are
24 May, 2001
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Like a bird to the sky
I am drawn to you
Like the colors of the Autumn
I am part of you
Like the springtime rain
My sudden tears fall upon your shoulder
Like the melody of the birds
My heart sings for you
You are to me as a puppy to a child
A rainbow to a dark sky
The cool summer sunset
After a long hot day
You are the good, of the bad
The happy, of the sad
You are the smile
to a child in your arms
All things wonderful
You are to me
As raindrops fall, the bird soars
With my heart upon it's wings
For when I am with you
The puppy bounces
And the child squeals with delight
You are comfort to me after the springtime tears
As a rainbow magically appears
And the sunset shows against the horizon
I am here for you always, adding colors to your Autumn
I am the child who smiles back from your arms
