The Oil Fields Burn
16 March, 2003
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
As the sky blackens and the oil fields burn I fear
Not for the winning or the losing but for the fight
The loss of life on either side is too much
But it is inevitable now .. It will come
A dictator who threatens, kills and tortures his own
So much loss... so much pain .. so much fear
If only there could be another way
Where lives.. wouldn't be lost
But it is inevitable now... It will come
I believe in what we are doing
I believe it has to be done
I believe in what our military men are facing
And I believe they will do what they must
It is inevitable now... It will come
As the skies blacken and the oil field burns
The world prays to their God
We pray for peace and the understanding..
Of the insanity that one man would not give up his position
But it is inevitable... It will come.
One way or another... it will come...

We all hurt and worry with you Dreamer! A greatful member of dreamersreality. |
