Chained To My Phone
16 March, 2003
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Every day I sit by the phone
And wait for the thing to ring
Night after night I wish for your voice
To come and make my heart sing
But sometimes I have to take time for myself
To be with other human kind
So I make a date with some friends of mine
A good time tonight I've resigned
But of course the first night I make a plan
To go out and have some needed fun
Would be the morning you get some time
Early before the sun
Oh devil phone you capture me
Chained to your beckon call
So tonight I escape from your silent stare
But for your tricks I take the fall
The machine picked up saying I wasn't home
Disappointment in your voice I hear
So sad I missed you so long awaited
I'm back to my chains I fear
