In Another Child's Eyes
13 December, 2002
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
I look at you and realize my loss
The things stolen that could have been ours
Your joy and excitement reminds me of what was lack
I see in you all that could have been
The love, the closeness, the pleasure of love
I am reminded of the ugliness that's no longer here
Sweet innocence lost to her illness
The joy of just being anything she wanted to be
She has never been able to dream and to just... live
I look at the innocence in anothers eyes
I know of her suffering in her own knowledge
That she can't feel what the others feel naturally
It's sad as I move forward and away
Knowing behind she is still there in her pain
While my heart is healed with the innocence of a child

Capricorn (62.30.192.1) -- Saturday, December 14 2002, 01:08 pm I am very touched reading your words, Dreamer as I know the pain you feel. It is a pain we share. They say time is a great healer, but I find time just makes the pain more bearable. Thank God our hearts can be healed |
