The Darkness Of Poets
9 March, 2003
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
The Poets are unhappy
Unhappy with their lot
Doom and gloom surrounds them
Aiming for more.. but not
Does the poetry bring deppression
Or depression become the poet
When they post their feelings
Saddness is what they quote
But in this life there's so much to write
A child at play or a bird that sings
A chair and table where they sit
Or steeples where the church bell rings
But on the saddness they seem to dwell
Venting anger; venting hell
Instead of seeing the beauty of life
And all the secrets it has too tell
Perhaps a different point of view
A different place or time
They will find a happier thought
When they find their time to rhyme

anja (69.10.202.86) -- Tuesday, May 27 2003, 12:02 pm I really enjoy reading this poem because it gave me the sence to think that i could write a poem on something else but darkness. My life is filled with so much hate and anger that I forget to look at all the things in life that could make me happy. I am glad that you decided to place your poem for others to read! Thank you! |
