Precautionary Medicine
9 March, 2003
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
His little mistake has cost you
Months of time in bed
Pain you needn't have suffered
As you now are intravenously fed
Blind trust in your doctor
Prescribing meds when you were well
They called it precautionary medicine
Now you are in medical hell
So why did he prescribe it?
Everybody asks
Perhaps he got an incentive
A kickback, or free pass
You lay there the hospital bed
Can't breath on your own
The doctor is prescribing more fancy medicine
That some drug company has to him shown

Meridian (64.12.116.197) -- Thursday, November 10 2005, 03:14 pm Yep, some of these medicines advertised on TV, have all these side effects. Some read, it may cause urinary traction, a rash, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, along with other cautions on the rest of that long list. Sometimes I wonder, if these medicines have these many side effects, how can you take it at all, especially those gigantic prescribed pills. Every now and then, we'll see on the news where tv journalists are warning us about these drugs. And it's sad for those who've already taken them, even more, if they've cleaned the bottle. Good poem Dreamer! |
