River Solitude
24 February, 2002
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
I sit high above the river
watching as the barge moves its wares
The moonlight playfully jumps upon the waves
dancing in the wake like dolphins
The boat passes and the water calms
returning to tranquil and soothing smoothness
the river relaxes, gently moving to its endless destination
peaceful reflections in the moonlit solitude
