As Rose Petals Fall
24 September, 2001
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
As Rose Petals fall one by one
Edges brown and withering
The smoke filled air begins to clear
But the tortures of many begin
Lost are the dreams and laughter
Of fathers, sons, mothers and daughters
Thousands of lives suddenly cut short
No one last "I love you"
The tears begin and end.. just to begin once more
Another story of love lost is shared
The Silence deafens, and beneath, pain subsides
For those, another tear is shed
While the rose petals drop one by one
We know there will be remembrance
Of dreams and laughter, pain and loss
And for them, with love, we unite. For them we will continue
