As You Say Goodbye
28 April, 2004
Author: Terrie*
another day of romance w/o you at my side
the magic that once was,now hides
for the many tender moments of holding hands
and in just taking a chance
the inner child we each carried
even as we both
the tree that we chased each other around
still stands at the mall downtown
if only I could hold you right now I'd squeeze you so tight
just one little hug would make everything alright
these tears that always cry for you
as this heart that continues to break for only you
before you moved on
you told me only the memory to hold on
but not to the ghost that can never return
you said, keep the love in your heart open for a new form of love inside that will burn.....
it may not be today or tommorrow
but when it arrives he will bury all of your sorrows
it may take months it may take years
but know in your heart he will dry up all your tears
I will be but a short step away
when I see that your happy I will gracefully walk away
do not compare what you and I still may share
show him that only for him you will be there
for every holiday that I'll miss
very softly you will feel my tender kiss
thank you for believing and showing me in this life that you cared
thank you for your honesty that you shared
life is not fair this we know
but I must move on and leave you behind for you to continue to help our tree grow
with you everday my life was filled w/romance
and loving you always for trusting in me and taking a chance
i know that there was another that wanted your heart
I was so blessed on that day that you had chosen mine
