Back To The Road
21 September, 2003
Author: Ben Laney
Cold, half-bare trees
And the leaves
Are still falling
In the breeze
The highway is calling
Singing to me
My ears are filled
Autumn's air is chilled
I can't be still
I've got to get back to the road
I got the stamp
But I never
Sent The letter
I just wanted to say
I hope you get better
I pray it's soon
My ears are filled
Autumn's air is chilled
I can't be still
I've got to get back to the road
Tell my children
Their Daddy
Is a singer
Yes, I love them
A thousand cold winters
Will never change that
My ears are filled
Autumn's air is chilled
I can't be still
I've got to get back to the road
I can't be still
I've got to get back to the road
