Lost Without You

I'm totally lost in these tears of mine
from the pain of crying over you
after all these years...
every little tear drop experienced that same pain
I'm so empty
I'm but a shell left w/o a soul
my love I surrendered to you to take and keep
I promised you darlin' it would follow your heart
so it would be me alone at night to weep
patiently I hold on to your memory
as I visualize you exit my life
just as i entered into yours
your love captured me
and kept me alive far and beyond
your faithfulness kept me whole
our honesty and trust kept us close
you always tickled my heart
you were my strength
the life i had with you
can never be matched
your boldness
kept me smiling
you were amazing
always kept me pleased and surprised
your love kept me content
on many lonely nights
our passion could light the night on fire
when we became one
now i am so lonely
only embers remain
who will keep me content
and give me the love you gave to me?
your love
kept me dancing and singing
but..my love failed to keep you alive
in this world of mine
my strength was weakened
watching my soul accompany you to your death
you brought me tears of joy when we first meet
now you leave me behind with tears of sorrow
as I help you take your very last breath
I embrace your love close to my heart
as I release mine for you to take
you were all my dreams & wishes that came true
you were the love that found me
you refuse to take my soul
so love can find it's way to me
as you have released me
now I too must set you free......
you i will always love
i'll close my eyes
on a cloudy day
i'll reach out my hand
and i'll touch your love
perhaps as an Angel
someday you will return to me
if not, I'm sure you'll choose
the best one for me...
just as God chose you
i still belong to you and God
i'll remember not to give
the love of my flesh away
if he's not the one
if he's honest with me
then i'll know he's my gift from God
i'll still have that space
for you inside of me
