The Lowest Of The Low
11 May, 2004
Author: Willahh
She told me today I am
The Lowest of The Low
I've been where she's
been a hundred times before
Yet I cannot yet convey
To her the ways of this earth angel
Sent to be grounded
'neath the willow tree
She whispered to me
"Tell her to spread her own wings."
Then she left me there
Contemplating the reason
She speaks in rhyme to me
So, I made my way back to the old
stone dwelling, where my mother
and father were arguing
My Heavenly Host with me all the way
Holding my hand, and my heart, and
pressing my lips together
The Lowest of The Low
Bows her head in shame
In honor of the words
Others speak about her
From beneath the willow tree
------- Author's Notes -------
Dedicated to my daughter. |
