The Best Part
7 September, 2002
Author: Maranda Berkley
The best part of forever has to start somewhere
And in my room words are written to document each day
At night out on the porch, I wait for you only to go inside alone
Waiting for the sound of your truck, waiting by the phone
If forever's this lonely, I'd rather die young and unhappy
Than have my story written of a poor pathetic girl
Whose sad life, and sad heart, for years continued to drone
She was never thrilled with a thing
You could hear it in her voice
She walked with head hung low
But how you live your life and create your happiness is your own choice
The best part of forever starts somewhere
Why not turn your life around, tell someone you love them
Put your doubts behind you and smile
But don't wait for tomorrow
For tomorrow may be too late
Think of how much you crave the change
How precious the time
And make the best part start today
