Wash Away
28 July, 2002
Author: Maranda Berkley
Seasoned shadows fall
On moments like these
Splintering the thoughts
All our feeble minds see
Into a thousand puzzled figures
Shaken up
With no hope of reconnection
But time will go on
Life, love and mystery reawakened
Built up and scrubbed down with soap
A mind clean of all thoughts
A day of no recollection
Suddenly out of nowhere returns
These days sound tired
But I think I'd rather have been here
All along
With all the dirt and muck
With all good times and smiles
Gathered together
Waiting for each new day
Each morning when eyes open against the sun
To once again
Be scrubbed down
And washed away
With soap
