Ready Set Go
17 July, 2002
Author: Maranda Berkley
Bright and early in the day
I pass out in bed
Not wanting to awake
To myself I say
"There must be something else
must be a break"
Your picture burns holes through my face
I throw my pillow over my head
Knowing I must go
Get up from this place
I get up
Make myself work through the day
Feeling like there's something missing in my life
Grabbing for where you used to be
Asking if there's anyway you can stay
Beaten down over and over again
When you say
"There's no way"
But you tell me you'll be back
And I say
"I'll wait"
When you return
"Ready, set go"
Together we'll travel anywhere you want to go
