So It Was With John

Once in a while
A heart comes along
With a burning smile
And from the inside
A ripple spreads out
And turns into a tide
Once in a while
A clown happens by
With a dazzling style
And you can't help but laugh
As merrily he leaves
Sweet joy in his path
Now we know sometimes
We must say goodbye
Silently, like a mime
Knowing that when a light shines
It's brightness flows on
Across ages of time
So it was with John
His spirit was a special one
He shined on everyone
And all too suddenly
He was gone....
So it was with John
Through his gift of art
He shared with us his heart
A glowing human spark
Throwing light in the dark
So it was, so it was
So it was...with John
