Hold Fast And Stay
7 July, 2002
Author: Maranda Berkley
Unconsciousness pulls under
Falling head first to a dead end
Face flat on the bottom
Feelings, truth, time - all pretend
A lost stray
A hopeless meander
To hold fast to the wings of an angel
As he leads the way
If I decide to take a stand
Make a bold mark
I'll be led astray
All over again to start
You see, there's something about the unconsciousness
About the start of a dead end
A feeling that can't be measured
Something more between two friends
There's that one hidden light in darkness
That long distance can't even compare
Fate does have a few choices to give
Both consisting of nothing yet something somewhat fair
If I choose to be pulled under
I have nothing to show for what I've done
No reality in energy I release
No truth in love
But if I choose to hold fast to the wings
Let the angel lead the way
I may, I will and I might
Have a persuasion in what fate says
Helping along a close friend
Holding fast to his wings
Making him stay
Proving the dead end a start
Hope for a might, a will and a way
