Ro Y Ad -concrete-

Author: Maranda Berkley
You ask
me to
meet you
At the
"y"
in the road
So there
I'll
be waiting
Wishing,
hoping
...eyes closed
You arrive and I
let
you pick which way
to go Two
roads: The
first is filled
with
gingerbread houses,
wonders and
gold's
Everything
magical and pleasant
imaginable
"Pick
that road" I urge The
second has
lions
tigers and bears Led
by a yellow
brick
road Despite my pleas
You pick the
second
path grabbing my hand
So you can
show
There's nothing to be
afraid of while
you're by
my side The lion's use
their growl
to
intimidate You hold onto
my hand tight saying
"It's
all fake" And we run
right by The
tigers
use their eyes to make me cry
You wipe my tears from my face saying "You
have nothing to fear when you're with me,
not even in this place" And we jog right on
by The bears use their claws to break us
apart You wrap your arms around me
saying "We'll never part, fate brought
us together and that's where we'll
stay" And we walk right on by "I
wasn't even afraid" You explain
"That's because I protect your
heart as you do mine. I'd
never let anything
happen to you,
your life is mine"
And happily ever
after Holding hands
We skip into the night
