So Long
28 April, 2002
Author: Maranda Berkley
Inside out from the world subside
Sink deeper into silence
Sink deeper into mine
I'll pass the letters saying "so long"
Victors repeat
As the villains hum
You'll hate the truth in here
I'll hate the truth revealed
Thinking a saint belongs
Though it's not that at all
Inside out the skin will turn
Sun blistered, time consumed
The heat, the fear, will burn
Out of touch but into tune
I'll know all of what goes on
The nights apart won't matter
My words never to stutter
Straight to your face
I'll say "so long"
What you need isn't me
And the times I need you
Are a limited few
The connected long gone
The cord cut in two
To give us the freedom
To start our lives new
I'll take a moment to think
What's best for the time being
The time confessed
I will profess
I'm no longer confused
Don't mind this stubborn nature
I'll be thick
And head strong
But I'll stick to my guns
Never pointing the pistol
But keeping the safety off
Looking right through you
Saying "so long"
