Burnt Out Light
22 April, 2002
Author: Maranda Berkley
These streetlights I pass
Not at all few and far between
So many stars that burn
But the world remains incomplete
So much is missing
And I believe in the sky
Is where all the lost and unknown
Will be
All these lights on crowded streets
Rich people with heads high
Walk on by
While the bums search through gutters
Looking for feed
With big smiles in a life that died
They'll pay their respects
But pay no mind
Forget all the burnt out lights
Onward go through the crowded streets
Led by the ones that are still bright
Lost-never found
For now until death
When everything you've ever lost
Everything once forgotten will be found
