I Write This Poem
8 April, 2002
Author: Maranda Berkley
You softly say sweet words to me; I turn the other way
You say you wish this could last forever, wanting me to stay
You say I'm the sweetest girl; I chuckle, knowing I'm not
You tell me I'm everything-beautiful, sexy and hot
You say this has been the happiest weeks of your life
You say you have sweet dreams of me all through the night
You say so much
And you do much more to let me know what you feel is true
You'd be the first to hold me, first to listen, when
I'm feeling blue
I write this poem for you
For what you have already done for me
But please don't rush
I need the time to understand how I feel
Trust is something that must be earned
And you are doing quite well
Little by little we'll pull this off
Growing into much more than just friends
You say so much
And you do much more
Just don't stop showing me this is real
Words do little to make me realize
But SHOWING makes me feel
