I'm pondering my choices in life
Trying to make myself justify
That my decisions are right
Life is too serious
To do everything by the book
To do everything for you
And nothing for me
I need help too
Where is my friend to rely on
With comforting words to sooth
The key to my lock to set me free
I am stuck in this cage
Of a personal struggle
Of not feeling adequate
Full of heartache and rage
Before it's too late
I'd like to forget about you
And start remembering me
I'll do things for myself
Instead of going all out
Going out of my way
For someone who doesn't
Appreciate me being me
A friend to a friend
Is something I can be
But a friend to an enemy
I'll never be
