My Lord, My Savior, My Friend
21 February, 2002
Author: Maranda Berkley
He took me in his arms
Told me I had the power to heal my faith
Seal my fate
He brought me down
I opened up
Letting the waves crash over my face
My eyes looked at the sky
Out at the world
Asking the question "why"
I looked for an answer
Looked for my Lord
And gently closed my eyes
He pulled me back up
Into this life
Filled with hurt and pain
Liars and cheaters
Rapers and beaters
All taking the Lord's name in vain
I made a promise to God
A promise today
I baptized my soul to mend
To take God's word to heart
Walk through life holding his hand
Proclaiming the Lord is my savior, my friend
