Sonic Youth
6 January, 2002
Author: Maranda Berkley
The sky sweeps over us
Inspiring a sonic boom in an empty high
Flying over the shady ways
Searching for the night to turn it young again
The light flashes brightly
And the world turns dark
And the night turns black
But ever so slowly
The future bleeds light
The dark melts away
And the dreamers awake
And cry their tears
For the death of their beloved night
And the fevers soar with the wonders
Of the new light world
Elders hide away
As sonic youth creep about
They never even notice the bright grows dim
Till it is too late to run from its flight
The emptiness pulls them in
And they fall away
And they scream for a new day
But the darkness sucks them out
With the rest of the dreamers
Into the night
