Pistol River Memories
31 July, 2003
Author: Ben Laney
Lost in a hotel room
Out on Highway nine
Just my guitar and me
My thoughts are turned to you
Across that borderline
And what do you think I see?
I hear the traffic roll
Outside in the night
And loneliness creeps in
God in his heaven knows
I miss your love light
How I want to hold you again
Down that old gravel road
Passed a weathered barn
That's seen some rain and sun
Where Pistol River flows
I long for your arms
And my feet want to run
I got a heart full of
Pistol River memories
I can't forget the good love
That flowed between...you and me
The pictures in my mind
Keep rollin' through me
Time after time, after time
I got a heart full of... Pistol River,
Pistol River memories

For some like us Ben, the love we feel flows neverending like a river and we are forever in a lonely hotel room. Perhaps it is our destiny, but at least we have the memories. Love the way you said it all :o) |

Remember that big hollow tree that grew ferns that tasted like licorice when you sucked on the root? I love you Dad! You write beautiful poems! |

Bobby Leon (198.81.26.73) -- Monday, July 19 2004, 05:46 am some times i go drifting just like pistol river, down that winding rock and dirt road, i wish to see that old barn, i want to know if it has withstood the many rains since i last took it in with my own eye's. what a house that was with its many rooms, oh what tails they could send your mind realing with. funny, even though my time there was short, that time is some of my favorite memories, just look at that snake up on the mountain, look at him baskin in the sun. my cares then were as few as his. i do go to pistol river, from time to time. |
Ben Laney (65.148.230.241) -- Monday, July 19 2004, 10:45 am Bobby Leon, from New Mexico to the West Coast is a long distance to send your comment through CYBERSPACE to dreamersreality, and I greatly appreciate it. Yes, Pistol River is a part of God's creation that makes a soul want to drift back to in memories from time to time. Thanks soooo much for reminding me that it is a memory I share with my best earthly friend, as well as with my beloved children and others! Muchas Gracious, Mi Amigo! Your Friend, Ben |
