Sharing Memories With A Friend...
16 May, 2004
Author: Terrie*
The breeze was one of the best
away we went
like two young children
sharing and flying a kite
sitting side by side
listening to my words
the words speak of pain and grief
but some how i will get thru
to be able to smile felt so great
to be able to witness
another sunrise and sunset
was such a heartfelt thing
to be able to run against the wind
to roll down a hill
to run across the meadows
and feel the rain hit against my face
as I look up to thank God
for all the beauty that is free
for me to enjoy
along with a good friend like you
to yell and hear an echo
to blow a dandelion with a soft whisper
to bike-ride down a winding road again
to laugh out loud down deep from the inside
until I cry, oh what a feeling
to be able to breathe in the sweet smell
of reality again and not feel guilty
to want to be a part of and belong
together we packed my sorrows gave them to God
traded them in for another shot at life
thank you for bringing me back
to the other side
showing me that
I didn't have to give up
the existing love from my life
no memories can be deleted or erased
from my mind
unless i allow them to be
forgotten and removed
thank you
my friend for the
tender memory of today
that memories will never be erased
