You Are Never Far Away
25 May, 2004
Author: Teresa Ortberg
You are never far away from me,
Traces of passion still lay on the pillow.
Your scent is in my every breath,
The brush of your tongue still on my mouth.
You are never far away,
The smell of pines, a reminder of our first embrace.
Flesh touching flesh, hands exploring,
Sweat tickling the senses, blurring the lines between us.
You are never far away,
Your face is in every cloud,
Your voice in the song of the thornbird, who mates and
throws herself on the thorny branches of death.
You are never far away,
I hear your heartbeat in the raindrops on my window,
And your whisper in the wind in the trees.
You are never far away from me,
When the nights are so long, that the stars burn out
And the dark becomes the day...
You are never far away.
