Romance

It's not easy to write about romance.
Romance means different things for people.

For some it's a glance.
For some it's warm complimentary words.
For some it's a candlelit dinner.
For most it's humour, listening, honesty and sincere caring.

To have romance in your life.
You have to earn it, by giving it.

I found the more you give, the more you get.

thank-you cap

I know it's nothing special just simple the way I like things. I'm glad you liked it.

Give a little, get a little

Again, well said! Romance----give a little, get a little, give a lot, get a lot.... What you get in return, depends on how much you give.... Earning things in life will take us far...
Excellent poem on Romance Barb!

Smiles,
Meri

I give all I have, been taken, once or twice.

Barb,

You pen is roaming round, well know ground. Good words, honest and true from experience, I expect, the teacher of fact. I always give, all I have, and as I say, been taken once or twice, silly me, acting like a fool, when, she didn't care at all. Learned a lot from experience, your words are the reflection of lessons learned. Having having been taken, guess what, they came back, what they thought was greener grass, made them feel like an a, well, you know. Not to sound to vain here, just sharing some truth with you as you have shared with me, Always, Always, give more, than you expect to receive, then in the end, you will know, you gave it your best and if, nothing else, you will, have this precious thing, its called peaceful heart.

Barb, have you noticed that the less words we use in our poems, the stronger they speak to our hearts?

thanks

Meridan you understood cwhat I was saying.give of yourself, and others will give to you. thanks.

Martin when I was young I just sat back and waited for the guy to be romantic, nothing. then when I got older I thought I'll show them what is nice. So by the time I got married I noticed that if I wanted openess and honesty I had to give it too. I got what I needed a marriage with respect, honesty and more.So yea I guess it was from past experiences. Thanks for the comments.

Eventually, we trade sex for love, how can that be

Barb,
So, you showed them what was nice, nothing more than what they, were searching for. Then reality of the heart, told you the truth. All of us are searching, as you did. Honesty, devotion, a high price to pay on today's market, when sex, is all, most are searching for. Suddenly, reality, shows its face, through all of, sex's pain.

If, you can take the time, to catch you breath, from having all that sweaty sex, you will find, well, just go back, read Barb's poem.

Barb, tender, and true lines.
