Pray For Peace
30 May, 2004
Author: Del
God bless our world this Memorial Day,
Let's pray that wars will be no more,
And men and women can be with family,
And not on some far distant shore.
A nation can declare a victory,
But no one wins a war.
Because of such horrible memories
Life will never be as before.
Brave soldiers will kiss their sweethearts,
Holding them oh, so tight.
Wondering how they'll make it
Thru each lonely day and night.
So many sacrifices will have to be made
To keep America free.
Both men and women will lose their lives
To save America for you and me.
Love should make the world go round,
Not hate and terror and greed.
Please, dear God put love in our hearts.
That's the one emotion ALL of us need.
