Sugar And Spice
22 October, 2002
Author: Maranda Berkley
You taste of sugar
And everything that's sweet
You invade my simplest thoughts
And are the image that I dream
You smell of deep moods
And I can't help but take it in
It's like a necessity anymore
A scent I need in order to live
You feel of smooth sailing
And my fingers glide over your skin
Feeling for nothing in particular
But making my mind sin
You sound of someone happy
A voice that's always laughing
The kind that makes my own joy
Hard to keep within
You look of someone with high standards
And it's rather frightening to make a friendship with you begin
It's a constant competition with others
But it will be worth it if I end up with the win
You are the sugar on the tip on my tongue
You smell of my deepest thoughts that turn me numb
You feel so soft and once I've begun
I never want to stop until the laughing starts
You know just what you want and you look the part
And if I've won you then in turn, you've won my heart

Pamela (66.38.146.67) -- Thursday, October 24 2002, 02:54 am I found that poem to be sensuous in a sweet way. You're poems are beautifully written and have a wonderful poetic essence to them. I love the way you describe feelings and compare them to thingsin the physical world. It's an excellent way to reach someone through their senses. Love It! |
Alexandria (198.81.26.236) -- Sunday, February 9 2003, 10:13 pm I was looking for the old Sugar and Spice and everything nice that is what little girls are made of poem, but I was taken by surprise with this poem. My heart actually started pumping a little faster. My body felt like I had butterflies fluttering in it and more. This was a beautiful poem and shows an appreciation for a beloved's body. Thank you |
