Puppy Love...

let me share my memorable moments
that awaits for me every morning
when I get home from work
the love you will automatically see

as I walk in through the front door
I see 2 pair of eyes looking straight at me
I unlatch their cages and meet them on the den floor
before they go take care of business
I get greeted with super sized wet kisses all over me
from my head to my toes
as days go by their love always grows

Peanut, the smaller of the two
always as a habitual routine
pulls the scrunchie off my hair yet has no clue
my hair flys loose and freely they both think they're human-being

Goober the bigger one happily wags his tail
a hard lash never fails
I've got some colorful bruises on my thighs
to prove his love for me that go very high
life is always so full of love and laughter
never a dull moment ever after

around these two loves of my life
they keep my every moment alive
they seem to detect whom can be near me
and whom can not be

not only do they protect their masters
they also protect me
their love I have earned
and I too love them fully in return

on some nights when I do not have to work
psst...guess who's snuggled up to me all night long..
isn't it grand to have such puppy love?

------- Author's Notes -------

My kids have two puppies that i am sooo fond of..
they are very much a big part of my life..
people would say that they are spoiled..
but i happen to disagree..
like my 2 kids they are verrry well loved...
just as my parakeet Zabu happens to be...
on the other hand , i tell you no lie...
i know definently that I happen to be verrrry happily spoiled :)

Truly Humorous

Hey Terrie! The line, about the dogs "taking care of business" had me chuckling... Your poem started off with spice.... I love it! Dogs become part of a family, and the family becomes attatched to them quickly.... My aunt had 2 older dogs for about 3 years, and both of them died recently.... It's very sad to see a member of the family slip into paradise; human or animal...

Very sweet!
Smiles,
Meridian

I would eat Alpo, out of your hand

Terrie,

I don't care who they are, if, they love animals as devoted as yours, are to you, I'd eat Alpo, out of your hand, {not comment about your thigh.}

People who love animals, are lovers of the world, no pretense, just, honest love.

P.S. Cap, (Capricorn) wrote a poem about her pup, you may want to check it out, her love is as warm as yours, for them.

yes it is sad to lose a friend be it human or animal..my kids pets are something else..Goober literally check out my dates heh...he thinks he is human..to get to me they must get past him...seriously no one can get close too me..but..they say pets/companions can detect what humans can't.
i am sooo sorry to hear 'bout your aunts loss..thank you for a lovely comment...
