Together We'll Be One

With a deep breath I spoke all four words,
With silence time stood still,
An eternity seem to pass for me until you replied,
Wrote you a poem and gave it with love then I asked the question,
As you read my words I saw tears start to flow,
Thought I’d blown it what did I do?
You looked back into my eyes,
I did not mean to make you cry,
Again I asked will you marry me.
You’re reply came and I replied pardon,
Yes I’ll marry you Clive,
My heart jumped way out of place,
My pulse raced as I caught my breath,
On my knees I went to give you the ring,
Held you tight as my tears stained your blouse,
An engaged couple we became,
Don’t you two belong others would say,
Then out of the blue on a Saturday passed,
I went even further as I asked the next step,
August the 14th do you have anything planed?
Not at this moment why?
Let’s get married on this day,
So in two months we marry in love,
Within two months we’ll buy a home,
Invites to send; lists to make,
We’ll make the plans for this our date,
Family will gather, I’ll have friends dear,
My family in England is to afar,
However the day will be special in everyway true,
Just because it will mean that I’m with you.
