Mary Shines
18 June, 2003
Author: Ben Laney
I met up with Mother Mary
Down at the Rainbow's End
It's amazing how quickly
We became fast friends
Mary talks my hat off
And I break into a smile
Something that girl's got
Makes life seem more worthwhile
Mary rolled out here from Cleveland
Along with Grant, her old man
With their cats and their posessions
Packed in a Volkswagen van
Mary brought some laughter
To this little mountain town
I sure am gonna miss her
When she's no longer around
Mary shines, Mary shines
It's so sweet of her
Sweet of her to be so kind
Mary shines, Mary shines
Her parents named her
Named her Mary Lou
On the day she was born
I'm sure Mother Mary's
Mother and Daddy knew
Mary Shines, Mary shines
