Centering
5 May, 2002
Author: Alex Chronyj
Never forgets a thing
Thoughts on her centering
Daily occurrence
Think of one's parents.
Singing in morning
Making apple pies
Reading in evening
Before said beddy byes.
Under the weather
Did not slow her down
Put on a sweater
And still went to town.
Could see right through us
We knew not to lie
To this day, makes a fuss
Why all know how to cry.
Told not to hold it in
Deal with things as they come
Whether skinned a shin
Or time hurt that thumb.
Keep in perspective
Straight up and forward
To be selective
What shapes inward, outward.
In us she's instilled
Before and after reached
That famous window sill
Her words, not just some speech.
In us implanted
In each is a trace
Do with as wanted
Let not go to waste.
Not meant as heirloom
Give sun and water
Throughout years so blooms
Falls, winters, springs, summers.
Each has a greenhouse
Which mom personifies
Her ways does espouse
From twinkle in her eyes.
