Dearest Friend-

Dearest Friend-
I’m sorry if I hurt you,
In ways you can’t explain,
I’m sorry if it hurts still,
I wish I could take back the pain.
It took me too long to realize,
How badly I was hurting you,
It took me to long to say sorry,
But my word still holds true.
To this day I do regret,
Most of the things I said to you,
I do regret a lot of things,
Most everything I do.
Time has come and gone,
And maturity has grown in me,
So please consider my poem,
And accept my apology.
This does not erase the words spoken,
Nor the actions that I made,
But know in your heart,
That our memories will never fade.
We may have grown so far apart,
And I might not ever see you,
But if these are my parting words,
These words I speak are true.
Through thick and thin you stood by me,
And still I treated you wrong,
You must be the toughest person,
For you’re still standing strong.
You must always remember,
What a great friend you have been,
You’ll always be in my heart,
If we ever shall meet again…

Meridian (205.188.116.200) -- Thursday, June 17 2004, 06:00 pm Forgiveness like that deserves a few claps! That's good, to know that you finally saw where you went wrong.... I wish, like a lot of people, that we can turn back the hands of time, and do things over again.... To live the past, but, we must press for the future, even though it still hurts.... Very touching Katrina! Smiles, Meridian |
