Dear God,
Forgive me ..

for what I must do
even though
it will hurt me so

and the pain will have no end
but I must set him free
to allow love to grow

too much pain
do I inflict upon him
I have so much love
yet I can not let him know

this man is too sweet
too perfect
perhaps not meant for me

I sacrafice my happiness
so he must never know
that it was I
that let him go

he was the source
of my heart pumping
day and night

Love at times can be hard,
To let go we never do,
As memories will stay to remind us of that love that never grew.
