time like a smile

that’s what has made our friendship
one I will forever treasure
getting to know you is my pleasure

to be blessed with a friend like you
perhaps there is something
in this life I really must be doing right

you've become more special
as you share
your day and your thoughts with me

so much beauty in the cards you send
my heart finds comfort
in everyone of your heartfelt words

your friendship I will always cherish
knowing you is like knowing me
whom only I can understand
you have that gift too to understand me...

I believe someday
we will have a chance to meet
and hugs will welcome
the blessed event

for the moment
we will remain a hearts length away
even thru our busy lifes
a new friendship will remain strong
forevermore beyond our aging days

thank you for the magic in our friendship
I too wish for you
the life you wish for me

whether things work out or not
we still have one another to dry more tears
we are one in another's hearts
we are strong
