As I Sit In Midsummer

fan spins wildly-
smoothly-
illusion of a blur-
from this vantage point,
i often search for
a question - an answer-
another question-
to satisfy me,
to appease my fear,
my insecurity-
to solidify the broken pieces
of failed attempts
to find or search for happyness.

and the clouds move slightly.
humidity approaches-
starts to taunt and tease
in this almost midsummers play.
summer soon -
the beginning of everything-
birthday pleasure,
the celebrations of St.Jean Baptiste,
the longest day of the year,
the decadent frenzy of it all-
the beginning of the end...?
it is the circle of seasons
i resist at times,
when troubled or unhappy-
full of fear.

the branches dance with the winds-
happy flowing
no resistance
natural nature
and
i am
once again
trying not to resist.
