But Never Jealous...
26 June, 2004
Author: Emilee
You may have gotten what I wanted,
gotten what I dreamed of.
But, I won't get mad about it,
bitterness, I'll rise above.
I may get angry, may feel hurt,
cheated, maybe crappy.
But, I'll never blame you for it girl,
I'll always try to look happy.
A tad bit bitter,
kinda sad.
But never jealous,
never mad.
Although I was not happy
about what I got.
I said I wouldn't let it crush me,
I said it...I forgot.
I may cry a little,
throw a little fit.
But, I'm never jealous,
not one little bit.
Don't think I'm not happy for you,
and the great job you did.
But you got so much attention,
and I think I deserved some of it.
But, that's ok, I love you still,
and I don't want to sound mean.
I won't get jealous, never will,
things aren't always what they seem.
Please just realize, I'm not mad,
or jealous you know.
I am just a little sad,
but from this sadness, I will grow.
So remember this,
when I seem bitter.
I am so not jealous...
...well, just a little.

Expressing your feelings toward your friend, about how you weren't jealous that she received more attention than you on an event, is great.... The last 2 lines had me rolling.... This poem is very good! I hope things work out for the best..... Smiles, Meridian |
