The light of my life has gone out.
I'm so lonely and blue.
So many hours are spent dreaming, dear,
Just sitting here dreaming of you.

Life has been nothing but sorrow,
Since that fateful day in September.
A day that will go down in infamy,
A day we will forever remember.

I'll never forget the day you left.
You said you had a job to do.
Promised to love me forever.
Forever I know I'll love you.

Some day our lights will go on again.
The sun will come shining thru.
You'll be back in my arms forever,
And our life will begin anew.
